Extinction Exhibit
The Extinction Exhibit is designed to be a “pop up” style exhibit to be displayed in parking lots of large department stores. Humans are rapidly causing extinctions of other species. In the exhibit it marks each of the Earths last six major extinctions starting with the Ordovician-Silurian Extinction 440 million years ago and ending in our latest extinction the Holocene extinction. As the viewer walks into the exhibit color walls will illuminate and a recorded speaker will begin to tell the stories of each extinction, what lived then, what caused the extinction, and the end result of the extinction. The color from top to bottom starts with cool colors and progresses to warmer and warmer colors to eventually red which is universally known as hot. The center of the exhibit has a wall that shields the object from view until the viewer is in range to look over the fence- only to discover.. an oil barrel.
