Redcedar Stool

The Redcedar stool is three legged stool that was constructed out of naturally fallen Eastern redcedar. The initial concept direction was to make triangular sections of the rectangular redcedar blocks shown below and join them together. However, as the design developed and considering that the color of redcedar will begin to naturally fade as its exposed to UV and oxygen- a darker toned walnut was incorporated to add weight and contrast to the stool top which works well as redcedar naturally transitions from purple/red to brownish/orange.
